This info is posted for Whiskey...
There's a new Invasion Hotel this year. It is the Days Inn in Union City, 6800 Shannon Pkwy Union City, GA 30291. (770)306 6067. It's on the same exit as the previous Invasion Hotel. The code phrase to use when making your reservations "Invasion 2008". The rate is $54.99, but for more than 2 people in a room, it's $59.99. These rates are only good For Invasion weekend, 23, 24 & 25 May. To get these rates, you MUST make your reservations before 16 May. The regular rate is $74.99.
Tosi made a BIG mistake! She bought me a ginormous iced mocha. I NEVER have caffeine. NEVER. Can you imagine the effects of large quantities of that drug on my pristine system?
So, it's Friday. I'm all hopped up (literally: I'm bouncing in my chair) on caffeine and sugar, movie tonight, invasion tomorrow, I get off work in 3 hours. Yeah, I'm so productive right now.
(BTW, you should have all seen this post before I spell checked it. The caffeine is throwing off my typing coordination!)
(How the holy fook did I get a splinter in the webbing between my middle and ring fingers? And how do I get it out!!)
The box containing all my DVD's was the absolute last box that had not been explored in the dining room. It was wedged back behind the filing cabinet, and under two or three other boxes. Go figure.
However, I have my DVDs back, and tomomallie and I got to watch PotC:CotBP last night! Wow, I keep forgetting just how good these movies are. I keep catching details I didn't see before. Like the lobster trap that Will stepped into hanging off the back of The Dauntless as Will and Jack climb up the stern. I had never really noticed it before, and last night it cracked me up.
Also, strand me on a bach with Jack Sparrow, a bonfire and a good supply of rum anytime!
Tonight: PotC:DMC Wednesday: Date night, packing, and fixing of tomomallie's kilt. Thursday: Finish packing and go to bed EARLY to get lots of sleep. Friday: Invasion begins with the mass pirate viewing of POTC:AWE!!!! (I just noticed that spells awe; the feeling we'll be left with at the end of the movie?)
Okay, I've discovered something that might be important for all you invaders coming down. The management of Hotel Otter is being VERY strict about how many people are in each room. I've seen this, in person, a few times already this year. I am in no way shape or form suggesting that you attempt to defraud the nice people at hotel Otter who put up with our particular brand of insanity and chaos every year. But if you happen to find yourself playing host to a poor, homeless invader who was not on your original reservation, be discreet or be honest. Good pirates, wenches and rogues know when they've got a good thing and when not to possibly damage it.
