Invasion starts tomorrow! Yay! Not done with all my projects yet. Booo!
I'm back down at the 14th St Playhouse today, and now I'm wishing I hadn't finished my craft projects yesterday. Because it is DEAD down here. I've had one call this morning; it was a wrong number. I've filled a couple of comp requests and done some filing and now there is nothing else to do.
I want to get home and finish Super Sekrit project 1B, which I started last night. Then put away laundry, pack and do house cleaning. That way I can sleep in tomorrow and be all rested for Invasion! I've got a five day weekend, baby! A break for once! Hells yeah!
So, now, I will amuse myself by making a packing list and contemplating what I want for dinner when I get off work tonight. Thus far I've always been able to pack for invasion in one bag. Let's see if I can keep that record up this year!
My co-worker, Jerry, came to the Festival last Saturday and had THE BEST time. Loved every second of it and bought some stuff, including elf ears. He's coming back for Memorial day and closing weekend. Feel free to play with, taunt, harass, etc. if you see him.
After the mad scramble for my camera when I realized what they were doing, I managed to catch a few decent shots of the Snickers commercial. In between, I was dying of laughter.
These guys impressed the hell out of me. Very good show, and I LOVE street acts. Also, I think I managed to snap the picture at the exact moment he popped the balloon. Go me.
I'm falling down on the job! I only took about 55 pictures last weekend, 18 of them worth keeping. Three posted below.
My mouth continues to feel better. The infection is definitely receding. When I stick my tongue back in that corner of my mouth, I can feel healthy flesh, instead of a hot, swollen, pulpy mass, and the pain is very much less today. Yes, I know to keep taking my whole course of antibiotics. I can open my mouth much further than previously, but it still hurts some to open it too wide. I'm working on that. I want nothing getting in the way of getting this damn tooth out and getting all the way better in a few weeks.
I didn't actually accomplish anything on my pre-Invasion to-do list last night, but Tommy> and I did get the office and bathroom nicely cleaned, as well as the rat cage scrubbed and the rodents themselves bathed. They're slowly adapting to the idea of water as more then beverage.
Also, my husband and I took advantage of the storm that rolled through. I remain aptly named. };D
But, it's a slow day at work, so I should be able to finish Super Sekrit Projects 1C and 1D today before I got home. Time to break out the crafting supplies at work, hooray!
Also, should have a nice package waiting for me when get to the house. The envy will be wondrous!
Dextre Tripp, doing what he does best. I just like the composition of this picture. He's on stage in front of a couple hundred people, but this picture gives the impression that he's all alone.
Pirate Katie! She's been a bunch of things this year!
And Good Ol' Captain Drew probably doesn't remember dancing with anyone he could get his hands on, and by himself when all the lasses stayed out of reach, so I thought I'd remind him.
It could have been many things. It could have been the codeine in my night-time pain pills making me sleep solidly. It could have been the fact that I got to sleep in yesterday for the first time in...I'm not sure can I count that high. It could be the fact that my body is finally getting help to fight off this infection. It could have been the immense satisfaction that comes from eating a big yummy piece of chocolate cake yesterday afternoon.
I don't know what exactly it was, but this morning, when I woke up, I wasn't exhausted! I felt like I had overslept. I checked my alarm clock, and when I didn't believe it, I checked my phone. Nope, it really WAS 6:30, and I felt rested! Holey crap!
'Course, I still don't feel great. The pain pills are taking the edge off, but they're not helping as much as I hoped prescription meds would.
But, it's just going to get better. I keep reminding myself: this pain has an expiration date, now.
And the pre-invasion to-do list is looking pretty promising, as well:
Super Sekrit Project 1A though it took 4 days longer than I thought it would.
Super Sekrit Project 1B: To be worked on tonight
Super Sekrit Project 1C: Supplies brought to work, to be worked on the next few days
Super Sekrit Project 1D: Supplies brought to work, to be worked on the next few days
Super Sekrit Project 1E: Needs a little more shopping time, probably on Thurday.
Super Sekrit Project 2: Only needs another 30 minutes or so of work, probably tomorrow.
Whiskey's new pants: will only take an hour on Thursday or friday
Packing: to be done later this week, after laundry
Liquor Store visit: always entertaining, to be done some time later this week.
Photos from this last weekend will be loaded tomorrow, probably. My Boss gave me a HUGE project to do as soon as I got in this morning and I just finished it.
All the information is right here! Hope all you Wenches, Rogues, and Others are ready to have a great time this year!
I am excited to announce that we are in a different hotel this year. Better prices, amenities, rooms, and service. Information for making your reservations, including directions are listed below.
There will be no Invasion Dinner this year. Another event is taking place. See below for more details.
Dates: May 24-26 (Sat-Mon)
Group Photos: 1:00 PM outside the Royal Pavilion on Saturday!
Friday Night Meet and Greet: Parking lot/Lobby of hotel from 4-7:45pm.
Game: There will be a trivia game starting on Sat. morning & ending Sunday - details will be given Sat.
Events: Local 74 would like to invite you to the 1st Annual Wenches Wround Wrobin on Saturday evening.
What is this? Any of you have old accessories, garb, etc's you would like to trade or sell? Well join us! Bring your old garb, scraps, accessories, boots, whatever and see what you can get for it!
Rules: Start out with one person offering up an item (i.e. cloak) - then others around the circle can offer other items in exchange. Person can then choose from what is offered and the trade is closed or that person can withdraw and make a private arrangement elsewhere. If someone does not have something to offer in trade and wished to offer up cash - I don't think anyone will turn it down. Also, those who wish to up the "ante" so to speak may do so by offering more "garb."
Also - you might wish to bring a chair, cushion, or blanket to sit on. I will have some blankets available but depending on the number of people participating I may not have enough.
Time and Place: 8pm - whenever. Back parking lot of the hotel - will hopefully be roped off.
*Please let me know if you are going to participate in this event. As the number of ppl will determine if this event will be held or not.
Wenches Only!!! There will be an informal meeting on Friday evening from 8:00-8:30pm in my room regarding other plans for the weekend for us girls. Will make sure the word gets around about which room is mine after I check in.
I have done something to my jaw. It hurts. It feels like there's something embedded behind one of my molars and that whole side of my face hurts. I can open my mouth about an inch wide. This is not the first time it's happened, and I know it's only going to get worse before it gets better.
Even though all our "slush fund" money went to getting Tommy's shattered tooth extracted a few months ago, I think I'm going to make a dentist appointment, Monday morning, if possible; I have a credit card, and I'm tired of being in pain. Even when it's not flaring up, I've had a low ache pain on that side of my jaw for months and I've just gotten fed up with the constant pain. I'm hoping for a quick, easy, relatively painless (yeah, right) fix. I mean, at this point, it's affecting my job. It's difficult to speak clearly when you can't open your mouth.
Let's put it this way: I hurt so badly, I'm planning on unexpectedly taking Monday off work, if I can get an appointment, to get this fixed. Yes, taking time off. THAT's how much I hurt.
Milkshake for dinner tonight. Definitely. I tried eating real food last night, and I could barely stuff a french fry though my teeth.
So, enough of my whinging, it's time for a photodump of the rest of my favorites from last weekend's pictures. New pictures from this weekend coming on Tuesday, hopefully.
Seriously. Pirate in a tree? Am I the only one who sees something wrong with this picture? Note: This was not posed, I came up the path and there he was, in the tree.
Queen Lorelai and King Esperanza seem to be watching tennis. And not to pleased with the game.
Okay, think of the Darkwing Duck voice: "Let's get Dramatic."
And here, I demonstrate the proper use of a deckswab.
