Impatient child that hath new robes & may not wear

Fabric shopping was accomplished yesterday.  After much searching Lindsay settled on a soft, yummy, Kona cotton muslin with inclusions, and some broad ribbon in "her" blue (which was incredibly difficult to find!)
I found a shirt pattern that was exactly what I've been looking for, and this lovely grey-white fabric on the "linen" rack (which was full of almost nothing but polyester, UGH!)  It was 30% polyester, 5% linen and 65% viscose, a fiber I had no idea what the hell it was.  It felt so nice and was so lovely, though, I really wanted it!  So, I snagged a loose thread, pulled out my lighter (I laugh at everyone who ever asked me why I carry a lighter when I don't smoke!) and flame tested it.  It passed the natural fiber test with flying, and indeed, flaming colors, so despite the slight polyester content I bought enough for a shirt.  We'll discover this GARF season if this was a mistaken purchase or not.

I just did some research and viscose is apparently another name for rayon.  This made me panic for a minute, despite the positive results of the burn test.  However I did a bit more research (my Google-fu is strong!) and discovered that rayon is a natural synthetic with almost all the properties I that I want when I use natural fibers.  I just need to be careful when washing it.  I REALLY like this fabric, I hope it works out well.

But now I have all this fabric at home and two sewing projects to get cracking on and I won't have any spare time until Tuesday to start!  I'm also expecting Tommy's and my coat patterns in the mail today or tomorrow, so I'll be chomping at the bit to start on those as well!
