Not much happening in Jessica Land, lately. I'm pretty much just in a holding pattern of work, work, not-enough-sleep, repeat for the next few days until "Missionary Position" ends. Once that happens, I have so much I want to work on and do, I can hardly see where to begin! I think I need to get the to-do list notebook out again. I've been neglecting it lately. And I've only got until August to get as much done as possible, because once August rolls around, I'm back in the two job saddle until at least January 2009!
Oh! I did get the most bizarre piece of junk mail yesterday, though. It was a mailing from a sort of local church calling itself Avalon Church and it was the strangest missionary mailing I've ever seen. On the front it says "Playlist...finding God in your iPod," and here's the text from the back:
This is not your typical Easter Card! That's okay, because Avalon is not your typical church. Pastor Ritchie Miller is known for his raw and real communication style. Join him for this creative and humorous series that pulls out all the stops. Using some of today's most popular songs, this series may melt your face off!
Let me repeat that. These church services are going to melt your face off?!?!? I am so confused as to how anyone would think that would be an incentive for attending a church service. While I, personally, find my faith to be a source of solace, peace and serenity, I can tell they're obviously trying to entice the younger, rebellious crowd. But really, wouldn't knock you out of your seat or even rock your world be a little better.
Melt your face off. Seriously. I'm not big on 'net speak, but this totally deserves a WTFBBQ!? I can't think of any more appropriate phrase.
Oh, and I just investigated their website. You have to purchase tickets for the Easter Services. At the Guest Services Booth! I'm not Christian, so the last time I was in a church was Jack and Michelle's wedding. But, ignorant heathen that I am, I'm still pretty sure there's something not quite right with the above scenario....
Oh, and of course, today's Progression of Spring picture!
